Healthy Chocolate Spread

As a parent, coming up with easy yet healthy snack for your children can be difficult. Sometimes it can feel like the just is no answer! Thankfully, this nutritious, minimal ingredient chocolate spread can end all those worries. Made with rich cacao, healthy fats and all vegan ingredients, this spread would be perfect in a sandwich, as a dip, or even just by itself!


  • 2 cup hazelnuts
  • 2 tablespoon cacao powder
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • Pinch of salt


  1. Preheat your oven to 350º F
  2. On a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, bake thee hazelnuts for 10-15 minutes
  3. Allow the hazelnuts to cool slightly then rub them in a cloth until the skin comes off
  4. In a food processor, blend together the hazelnuts, cacao, salt, and maple syrup
  5. This make take 5-10 minutes, scrape the sides often to ensure for an even blend (add a little avocado or melted coconut oil for an easier blend)
